Artist Statement
Painting is the lens through which I process and observe my surroundings. In choosing mundane, overlooked objects and natural landscapes to paint, my works contemplate themes around our relationship with nature, consumerism, and human impact on the environment.
My works start from direct observation, through painting plein air, still life setups, or reference sketches and photos I take myself. I am interested in capturing a mood around a scene: the feeling of sunshine in the forest, a discarded plastic bag.
