The Non-Natives series uses the metaphor of weeds such as dandelions, Himalayan blackberries, and ivy - plants common in the Pacific Northwest - to explore themes of displacement, resilience, and the search for home. Through depictions of these often-labeled invasive species, the works reflect the complex emotions of non-native individuals adapting to a new place.
